Birthday bash

At Newport Dunes, we had a great time celebrating Elizabeth's first birthday! Grandma and Grandpa Shevlin were kind enough to host it at their RV. As you can see, we all enjoyed ourselves.. Especially Elizabeth!
Story time fun!
Elizabeth loves to get crazy with her friends

the tiny little cupcakes are for everyone else:)

Playing around

Before her big party, Elizabeth enjoyed time with her parents at the park and cruisin in her car.

Big Girl

Because one cake on her birthday could never be enough, our big girl enjoyed banana cream pie with Daddy that night. We can't believe how much she has grown and what a little lady she has become... just look at that etiquette!

Birthday lunch

At the rainforest cafe, Elizabeth went to town on their volcano cake special. There was even enough to share with her Mom:) Yum!!

Grandma Shevlin's Birthday Lunch

We had a great time celebrating Grandma Shevlin's birthday at El Torito. Elizabeth was in a festive mood. She liked the flan a little, but LOVED the hat! Happy Birthday Grandma!

Happy Birthday Grandma!

For Grandma Shevlin's birthday, we made pottery at Ceramicafe. Uncle Joe, Aunt Viana and Uncle Steve joined us as well.

I will have to download the beautiful plate made with Grandma, Christina and Elizabeth's hand prints. I haven't seen it yet, but I hear it looks good!

Ellie went a little crazy at the store because she wasn't allowed to touch all the delicate pottery that was right at her eye level:)

Silly Hats

Sometimes a hat just completes the outfit, don't you think?!

Elizabeth specifically requested to wear this hat during dinner one day - So cute!
Aunt Laura picked this one out

More fun time in Ventura

Swimming with Grandpa

Elle also had fun spending time with Aunt Jacklyn as you can see! The zoo was fun, but the toys at Grandma's house made the weekend a hit!

Ellie loves her bedtime stories
Just too cute for words!

Saturday 8/23/08 marks Elizabeth's first trip up stairs at Grammie T's house- the fun begins now:)

Santa Barbara Zoo

Of course Elizabeth had an amazing time at the zoo! Every animal was another "Jackson," and her squealing scared a few of the animals (as well as some of the more timid kids)../

No, baby, you are supposed to feed the giraffe the food - not eat it!

First Word?

In the long-lived tradition of teaching "mama" and "dada", we worked with Elizabeth and waited to see which would be her first word. She has been babbling for a long time, but finally came out with a real word! Who does she love the most? Check the video below to find out:)

Hanging out at home

Although it always seems like we are on the go and having great adventures, we do like to hang out at home and enjoy the weekend...
Angel baby standing by the couch.
Daddy is so excited that Elizabeth seems to love baseball as much as he does! Doesn't she look cute it her outfit from Alaska (it has a picture of a fish on it and says "This one's a keeper!").

Almost walking

Any day now, she is going to race away! Just yesterday, she stood by herself for a few moments like it was no big deal (Daddy and Mommy were the ones squealing this time:)). Here is a clip of how she is improving using the walker.

All smiles

Elizabeth now likes to show off her top teeth. Look at that cute smile!

We also had fun riding the carousel at Fashion Island with Aunt Jacklyn.
